Le Grand Large Campground in Camaret-sur-Mer is nestled just 120 meters from the start of the GR34, the famous customs officers’ trail that runs along the entire coast of the Crozon Peninsula. Hikers, climbers, and water sports enthusiasts will find this an ideal base for exploring this wild region: cliffs and coastal trails for hikers and rock climbers, the waves at Kerloc’h for surfers, and the sheltered waters of Camaret Bay for sea kayakers. The GR34, nicknamed the “Customs Officers’ Trail,” runs along the entire Breton coastline for more than 2,000 km. The section on the Crozon Peninsula is among the most spectacular: sheer cliffs, hidden coves, and panoramic views of the Iroise Sea and Brest Harbor unfold with every step.

Thrilling Activities: Rock Climbing and Via Ferrata
The Crozon Peninsula is one of Brittany’s most iconic rock-climbing destinations. Its Armorican sandstone cliffs, sculpted by the Iroise Sea, offer a unique experience suspended between sky and ocean. The local provider Roc’Ha Blok, based at Pointe de Pen Hir in Camaret-sur-Mer, offers climbing sessions led by certified professionals: introductory, advanced, or adventure courses, for beginners through experienced climbers, starting at €30 for a 2.5-hour session. Via corda —an aerial hike along the cliff face secured by a safety line—is available for participants ages 8 and up (€35 to €40 depending on the route). Water Activities on the Crozon Peninsula
Nestled between Brest Harbor and Douarnenez Bay, the Crozon Peninsula is an exceptional playground for water sports.
Surfing, sea kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, sailing, scuba diving, sand yachting, wing foiling… The selection is vast, and there are plenty of providers.
The Kerloc’h surf spot, 3–4 km from the campground, is one of the most famous surf spots in Finistère.
For sea kayaking, our partner delivers your equipment directly to the campground—it couldn’t be easier. Diving enthusiasts will find what they’re looking for at the ISA Diving Center, which offers tours of the seabed in Douarnenez Bay.
And for families, the Léo Lagrange Club in Camaret-sur-Mer organizes sailing and kayaking outings suitable for all skill levels.
