The Islands at the Very End: Ouessant, Sein, and Molène

If Finistère is already the end of the world, its islands are the gateway to it. Ouessant, the largest and wildest of them all, impresses with its windswept cliffs, its legendary lighthouses—including the Créac’h, one of the most powerful in the world—and its black sheep grazing freely. The island of Sein, flat as an outstretched hand on the ocean, is home to only a few hundred people and exudes a timeless atmosphere. Molène, more low-key, rounds out this exceptional trio of islands. All three are accessible by boat from Camaret or Brest—a day trip that will leave a lasting impression.
