Heritage and History: Camaret-sur-Mer, City of Artists

Camaret-sur-Mer, the city of artists, also offers wonderful cultural treasures to discover. The Vauban Tower, known as the “Golden Tower” for its ochre hue, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site: it once guarded the entrance to the Brest Strait and today offers a historic stroll along the pier. The Notre-Dame de Rocamadour Chapel, adorned with model boats left as votive offerings, bears witness to the deep connection between Camaret and the sea. Further on, the Lagatjar alignments feature about a hundred menhirs, some over 3 meters tall. And to top it all off: the Pen Hir headland and its legendary Crêperie Chez Germaine.
